Qualcomm Snapdragon 215 with faster 64-bit CPU, dual VoLTE support announced

Qualcomm has introduced a new chipset – Qualcomm Snapdragon 215 for entry-level phones. The new chipset is the upgraded version of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 with a faster GPU and support for dual cameras and it’s the first of its kind to be equipped with a 64-bit CPU.

The Qualcomm 215  chipset will be integrated into smartphones that will be presented in the second half of 2019, which will now be able to count on a series of features that previously could only be found on higher-end chips. This will allow manufacturers to make cheap devices that will not have to give up Dual SIM connectivity with Dual VoLTE, a double ISP and much more.

Compared to Snapdragon 212 – announced 4 years ago and used by Qualcomm to compare the performance of the new SoC – the new Qualcomm 215 offers performance up to 50% higher for the CPU sector and 75% faster charging, thanks to the support for Quick Charge technology.
