Live Review of Itel P33 Plus

Live Review of Itel P33 Plus – One of the biggest announcement from itel mobile so far this year is the introduction of itel P33 and Itel P33 Plus. Both devices were launched along with each other on March 25, 2019. Both devices are itel battery focused smartphones with 4000mAh and 5000mAh capacity respectively.

If you recall, I unboxed the Itel P33 Plus almost a month ago and today, I shall be putting the Itel P33 Plus on a live test as I used to do.

Live review of Itel P33 Plus

Previously, I have done several live reviews of itel S13, P32, and S33. You can read the in-depth review performance of the device right from the available link.

About Itel P33 Plus

Itel P33 Plus packed an ARM Spreadtrum chipset with a 4-core processor that clocks at a normal speed of 1.3GHz. In the graphics department, the ARM Mali-400 MP2 graphics is in charge. Alongside this, we have 1GB RAM and 16GB ROM that can be expanded up to 32GB.

The Itel P33 Plus is powered with the latest Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition) and a 5000mAh battery. There is also a fingerprint and Face unlock for security. The itel P33 Plus costs NGN27,000 in stores across Nigeria.

So, guys, the Live review of Itel P33 Plus would be going live on June, Thursday 06, 2019, Time: 9:00 AM

Finally, the battery of the device has gotten to the level whereby he wouldn’t be welcoming any further pressing until a refill is done. Battery now at 1%. Any moment from now, the device would be turned off. So let me quickly round the review up by dropping my verdict and pros/cons.

Verdict

It has been two days of thoroughly testing/reviewing the itel P33 Plus. Just like it was advertised by the phone brand, one can’t deny the fact that the device is truly a monster battery phone featuring 5000mAh capacity. For the prize – N27,000, it is a good device best for the second phone. It will surely give you peace of mind because a single charge can last you for days if not use in a heavy way.

Pros:
1. Last longer battery 5000mAh
2. Premium body with pocket-friendly price N27,000
3. Big inbuilt storage 16GB
4. Big screen – 6inches
5.

Cons
1. No fast chargring support.
2. Small RAM. 2GB of RAM should be have been a decent one.
3. Not HD display
4. Speaker not loud enough
5. Front facing camera not impressive

My journey has been a smooth ride so far. Just got to Ibadan now, progressing to my destination.

So it has been over 3hrs of streaming musics via Boom Play battery level now at 7%.

Design Review

One of the things that blow me in love with the itel P33 plus is the premium, classic, sleek, elegance, and curve body that it was made of.

Despite the huge battery, itel mobile still carves the device to be sleek and attractive. I’m using the Gradient blue and I know the numbers of attention the phone has gained ever since I have been using it.

On the rear side of the phone, one can boldly see the rear camera sitting comfortably alongside the fingerprint sensor. Underneath too, we have the itel logo written and the speaker grip.

At the top of the device, we have the 3.5mm headphone port while at the bottom, we have the USB port.

If you’re used to itel devices, you will agree with me that their design is so much identical. If you compare the Itel S33 to Itel P33 Plus, you will hardly know the difference between the two devices. The front camera and rear cameras are both places on the same part of the phone on both devices.

Well, I think Itel should work more on their designs instead of repeating the same look on different phones.

07/06/2019 – 2:08 PM

Just left the park (Ilorin) heading to Lagos. Meanwhile, I am currently streaming music via the Boom Play music app.

07/06/2019 – 1:59 PM

So, guys, I am heading to Lag due to an emergency that shows up. Currently battery level now at 16%.

Storage Review

One of the main selling points of the device is the big storage unit that comes with it.

Under the hood, we have an ARM Spreadtrum chipset with a 4-core processor that clocks at a normal speed of 1.3GHz paired with 1GB of RAM and 16GB inbuilt storage.

Thanks to the Android Go OS, multi-tasking with the device is quite flawless when you do not load the phone with extensive apps at a go.

The game apps I downloaded earlier work smoothly on the phone simply because it is of the same specs qualification with the phone.

If you try to play games like Asphalt, pubg or grand theft auto with the phone then you will have a problem with multitasking because the phone would be lagging. All the mentioned mobile games requires a phone with 4GB RAM upward so as to work smoothly.

Another thing you can also do to enjoy smooth multitasking in your Itel P33 plus is to force stop apps that you are not using. Especially apps that consume much RAM storage like the Facebook app and Adobe LightRoom.

07/06/2019 – 10:25 AM

So I played 3D Tennis game for 1 hour and also navigate through a few apps. Good to know that only 6% of the battery life was taken. Battery now at 27%.

07/06/2019 –09:26 AM

Now installing some game apps.

07/06/2019 –09:08 AM

A quick look at the battery shows that only 5% was used from 12:00 AM to 9:08AM this morning as the current battery level is now at 35%.

Well, no many activities were done overnight.

07/06/2019 –09:03 AM

Good morning ladies and gentlemen, I’m set for the day.

The live review of the itel P33 Plus just landed into another beautiful day. So far only 60% of the battery life has been used after extensive usage.

Camera Review

One of the most essential features to check out before buying a new phone is the camera. Nowadays, mobile phones are now challenging DSLR. In fact, some users don’t bother getting a DSLR since their phone give them almost the same shot with DSLR. Well, it will be good for you to note that the set of phones capable of changeling DSLR are phones with over $700 upward.

In this part of the world, not everybody can afford these sets of devices so that’s where Itel Mobile comes in. Shooting with Itel P33 Plus is quite amazing even though the device is not camera focused device unlike the Itel S33 but I can bet it with you that you wouldn’t be disappointed with the shots taken with the Itel P33 Plus.

Right at the front of Itel P33 Plus, we have an 8MP selfie camera. This camera works well under daylight than in low-light. Pictures taken under low light can be discouraging if you are not under sufficient light. The front-facing camera is capable of shooting Full HD video.

On the rear side of the device, we have a dual camera setup just like we have in Itel P32 and S33. Unlike the S33 with 13MP camera, the itel P33 Plus packed only dual 8MP capable of shooting portrait, HDR Pano and Pro.

Finished watching the movie. It took a 7% battery level to watch a 41:46 mins movie. I make use of the loudspeaker with the highest volume level.

Security Review

The Itel P33 Plus is equipped with 6 level security which is: PIN, Password, Fingerprint, Pattern, Swipe, and Face ID.

This is the first-ever Itel device here in Nigeria that supports Face ID. Itel also calls it Biology ID. The Face ID works so well in day time but sometimes malfunction at night. I mean it sometimes malfunctions when there’s absent of light.

To set up your Face ID for itel P33 Plus is simple. Just make sure that you set either Pattern security or PIN then you’re good to go.

For the Fingerprint, it works beyond unlocking your phone as you can use it to take a photo, answer a call,  call recorder and stop alarm clock.

Apart from that, the Fingerprint has a hidden feature known as Fingerprint shortcut. Here, you can set 5 fingers to unlock 5 apps of your choice. Meaning that you can set a finger to unlock WhatsApp, set another finger for Twitter and others.

06/06/2019 –9:49 PM

Now watching a 41:26 mins movie. I will be observing the battery performance as it goes.

User Interface Review

Itel Mobile is yet to join the gang of Custom UI unlike what we have in Tecno – HiOS and Infinix – XOS but yet, one can’t the fact that the stock UI is kinda friendly and neat. Personally, I don’t think you will be needing another launcher than the one present in this phone.

06/06/2019 –8:23PM

Network – Connectivity Review

Ever since I have been using WiFi connection which is one of the network mode available in the Itel P33 Plus device.

Apart from that, the device supports dual nano SIM. Both sims can only using 2G and 3G network mode.

Well, I couldn’t use thee mobile network because I don’t have nano SIM card.

Using WiFi over mobile data alo helps to keep your battery last longer.

So far, only 43% battery percentage have been used since morning as the battery is now at 57%.

06/06/2019 –7:19PM

I put the itel P33 Plus on test via AnTutu Benchmark but unfortunately, the test didn’t work. It stay at 0% after several hours of waiting.

I was able to carried out stress test.

OS Review

At this junction, let’s talk about the Operating System we have in Itel P33 Plus.

It’s no longer news that Itel Mobile is now powering their devices with Android 8.0.1 Oreo Go Edition. This is the same OS that we have in P33, S12, S33, P32, A32F and other recent released device.

The Android Go OS is a special operating system from Google designed for low-range devices using 1GB of RAM.

So the device is preloaded with Google Go apps, like the Google Go, Youtube Go, Gmail, Assistant and Maps Go.

So, how does the Google Go Apps works on Itel S33? Well, the Google Go apps works here in Itel S33 just like any other Android Go devices.

The Google Assistant is your personal assistant which helps you to navigate, get things done when you communicate with it.

The Google Assistant knows you by Name and it can sing, play a game with you and search for things online for you. You have to sign-in your Gmail to experience the Google Assistant more.

YouTube Go is the lite version of the regular YouTube app that is built to allow you download, enjoy and share videos while using YouTube.

To use the Youtube Go, you must have a working Gmail account and a working mobile number because a code (OTP code) would be sent to the number to validate your account.

Next is the Maps Go. The Maps Go works just like the regular Google Map but here, thps have been simplified.

The Maps Go works with the GPS of your phone to give you direction and navigate to plbeing.

Next is Google Go. The Google Go to me is the master switch which connects you to other Go apps. It works juoffense your Google.com where you can search for things online.

It also has an inbuilt browser that links you to different apps. Inside the Google Go, you have 13 categories which include: Social, Entertainment, Google, Games, Sports, News, Shopping, Reference, Banking, Government, Travel, Education, and Jobs.

Any of your favorite website or online platforms can be used right in the Google Go and you also a Lite web page of the website which help loads the web pages faster even on a slow network.

Next is the Maps Go. The Maps Go works just like the regular Google Map but here, the apps have been simplified to d.

The Maps Go works with the GPto S of your phone to give you direction and navigate to places.

Hey guys, sorry for the break-in transmission. It rained heavily here that I was cold to the extend that I couldn’t press phone.

Meanwhile, the phone has been a little bit idle but yet, the discharge rate is quite reasonable.

06/06/2019 – 1:42 PM

I put the phone on benchmarking test via GeekBench 4 and here was the itel p33 plus score againt other top end devices.

06/06/2019 – 11:42 AM

Here is my quick observation concerning the battery performances so far: I think the discharging rate of the Itel P33 Plus in respect of my usage is quite okay. I have been using the device for almost 2hrs plus now and only 12% has been used so far.

My current usage has been around updating this post via chrome browser and few camera usage.

06/06/2019 – 11:38 AM

It has stop raining. Now headng out to Local Government for my June clearance.
