A few days ago, MTN announced that they are increasing the data prices of their SME data bundle today due to the reasons known to them (Maybe recession). The telecommunications giant company has earlier revealed the new prices of the SME data plans via the text message they sent out to all their customer (SME data re-sellers).
Well, the new MTN SME data plans prices have taken effect in the company website and their USSD service, the new prices for MTN SME data bundles are now 10GB for N6,500; 20GB for N13,000; 50GB for N30,000 unlike old price that is 10GB for N5,500; 20GB–N11,000; 50GB–N25,000.
This is not the first time MTN is increasing the prices of the SME data bundles. Some SME data resellers have already accepted the new price and have updated their data reselling price tag to the new price range:
250MB = N300
500MB = N400
1GB = N700
1.5GB = N1050
2GB = N1,400
3GB = N2,050
5GB = N3,100
This is indeed not good news for Data resellers as some are likely to lose many customers due to the fact that they may decide to buy directly from MTN which to me is kinda cheap if you apply double data offer because you can get N1000 for 3GB, N500 for 2GB and more.
