Last week, Airtel Nigeria launched three Unlimited data plans; Unlimited 10 for N10,000, Unlimited 15 for N15,000 and Unlimited 20 for N20,000. Though Airtel advertises Truly Unlimited data plans after a little digging, we found that it wasn’t Unlimited as claimed. In my previous post, I revealed the specific amount each data cap of the Unlimited Bundle.
So today, I will be sharing with you the Fair Usage Policy of the three Unlimited data plans. According to my source, the Unlimited 10 for N10,000 has fair usage policy of 40GB then will be throttled till the end of the subscription, Unlimited 15 for N15,000 has fair usage policy of 65GB then will be throttled till the end of subscription and Unlimited 20 for N20,000 also has fair usage policy of 100GB then will be throttled till the end of the subscription.
When you pass the fair usage policy on any of the Unlimited Plans your browsing/downloading speed will be throttled to 256kb/s but on a good day, you should enjoy max internet speed of 1-5mb/s if you haven’t reached the fair usage policy.
Just as it was stated in the previous post, each of the three Unlimited bundles has 30 days validation and you can activate them with *141#. You can read more about it here.
Now that we have known the data caps and the fair usage policy of the newly launched Airtel Unlimited data plans, do you think it worth the hype?
